26 LC 129 1116 Senate Resolution 801 By: Senators Goodman of the 8th, Watson of the 11th, Ginn of th e 47th, Anderson of the 24th, Echols of the 49th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 18, 2026, as Georgia Alpha Gamma Rho Day at t he capitol; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity is a national social and pr ofessional fraternity3 founded to promote the advancement of agriculture and the devel opment of leadership,4 scholarship, and service among young men; and5 WHEREAS, the Alpha Eta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho was established at the University6 of Georgia in 1927 and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027; and7 WHEREAS, the Alpha Eta Chapter is the only social and professional agricultural fraternity8 at the University of Georgia and has played a significant role in preparing generations of9 young men for careers in agriculture and related industries; and10 WHEREAS, members of Alpha Gamma Rho are guided by the purpose o f building better11 men and, through them, a better agriculture, contributing to th e strength of Georgia's12 agricultural economy and communities across the state; and13 S. R. 801 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1116 WHEREAS, the achievements and service of the Alpha Eta Chapter merit recognition by the14 State of Georgia for its long-standing commitment to leadership, education, and agricultural15 excellence.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body17 recognize March 18, 2026, as Georgia Alpha Gamma Rho Day at the capitol.18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed19 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Alpha Eta20 Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.21 S.
