A RESOLUTION
Recognizing Canada Day; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, in 2024, bilateral trade between the State of Georgia and Canada was $13.92
billion, making Georgia the number one state in the Southeast for trade with Canada; and3
WHEREAS, Georgia exported $7.4 billion in goods to Canada, with plastic or plastic articles4
being the number one export; and5
WHEREAS, Georgia imported $6.5 billion in goods from Canada, wi th the number one6
import being engines and turbines; and7
WHEREAS, Canada is Georgia's number one export market, and has been for over 20 years;8
and9
WHEREAS, there are over 300 Canadian-owned business in Georgia, employing over10
33,000 Georgians; and11
WHEREAS, notable Canadian companies in Georgia include: CAE, an aerospace training12
and simulation company with a training facility on Gulfstream's campus in Savannah,13

Georgia; Magna International, the number three largest auto parts manufacturer in the world14
and owner of Decostar, located in Carrollton, Georgia; Irving T issue, a paper products15
company with its first facility located near Macon, Georgia; Ti tanium Transportation, an16
Ontario-based logistics company with United States assets in crane transport; West Fraser,17
a British Columbia-based lumber producer with two mills in Geor gia; Canfor, a lumber18
producer with three facilities in Georgia, including its southe rn headquarters in Moultrie,19
Georgia; and Interfor, a lumber producer with three facilities in Georgia.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body recognize Canada Day in the State of Georgia.22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the24
public and the press.25
