26 LC 129 1208 House Resolution 1421 By: Representatives Ballard of the 147th, Blackmon of the 146th, Jones of the 143rd, Dickey of the 134th, Crowe of the 118th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending Officer Matthew Wojtel; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Officer Matthew Wojtel has served with honor and distinction with the Warner2 Robins Police Department since February 26, 2018; and3 WHEREAS, he is an honest and dedicated public servant who striv es for excellence in all4 of his endeavors and whose primary concern is the welfare and safety of the citizens of the5 State of Georgia; and6 WHEREAS, on January 29, 2026, Officer Wojtel sustained several gunshot wounds in the7 line of duty, and is currently in recovery; and8 WHEREAS, he is highly regarded by the citizens of his community and by state and local9 government officials as a man of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the administration10 of justice and sound principles of law enforcement; and11 WHEREAS, this spirited law enforcement professional has exhibited extraordinary devotion12 to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all of his13 duties; and14 H. R. 1421 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1208 WHEREAS, his inspiring commitment to the welfare of others is an outstanding example of15 the positive effect law enforcement professionals have on the lives and well-being of others;16 and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and18 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the19 citizens of this state.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend the care, courage, sympathy, a nd selfless dedication22 exhibited by Officer Matthew Wojtel in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation and23 express their utmost appreciation for having so purely and trul y defined for others the24 meaning of public servant.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to27 Officer Matthew Wojtel.28 H.
