A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia A nnotated, relating to1
license plates promoting or supporting certain agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations with2
proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, so as3
to establish a specialty license plate honoring public safety o fficers; to provide for related4
matters; to provide for compliance with constitutional requirem ents; to provide for an5
effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.6
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7
SECTION 1.8
Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to license plates9
promoting or supporting certain agencies, funds, or nonprofit c orporations with proceeds10
disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, is amended by11
adding a new paragraph to subsection (l) to read as follows:12
"(76) A special license plate honoring public safety officers. The funds raised by the sale13
of this special license plate shall be disbursed to the Georgia Public Safety Foundation,14
Inc."15

SECTION 2.16
In accordance with the requirements of Article III, Section IX, Paragraph VI(n) of the17
Constitution of the State of Georgia, this Act shall not become law unless it receives the18
requisite two-thirds' majority vote in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.19
SECTION 3.20
This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2027.21
SECTION 4.22
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.23
