26 LC 129 1219 House Resolution 1422 By: Representatives Werkheiser of the 157th and Meeks of the 178th A RESOLUTION Recognizing Tim Varnadore upon his retirement as mayor of Baxley, Georgia; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Tim Varnadore has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3 vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service as mayor of Baxley, Georgia; and8 WHEREAS, prior to his election, Mayor Varnadore served as a firefighter for 13 years and9 as a member of the city council for 20 years; and10 WHEREAS, Mayor Varnadore's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable11 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of12 this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and13 H. R. 1422 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1219 WHEREAS, during his tenure as mayor, he oversaw the city's 150t h anniversary, made a14 significant impact on the handling of stormwater, and was known for his hands-on approach,15 community focus, and dedicated leadership; and16 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for17 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and18 WHEREAS, Mayor Varnadore served with honor and distinction as m ayor of Baxley,19 Georgia, and he will be sorely missed upon the occasion of his retirement; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Tim Varnadore for his efficient, effective,24 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia ; congratulate him upon the25 grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere b est wishes for continued26 health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Tim29 Varnadore.30 H.
