26 LC 129 1165 House Resolution 1420 By: Representatives Greene of the 154 th, Mathiak of the 82 nd, Townsend of the 179 th, Hawkins of the 27th, Taylor of the 173rd, and others A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Anthony Trey Harrell; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Anthony Trey Harrell on February 13, 2026; and3 WHEREAS, Anthony Trey Harrell was born on April 12, 1979, in Bl akely, Georgia, a4 beloved son of Ray Harrell and Mary Sheppard; and5 WHEREAS, a dedicated member of the Blakely community, Trey was the proud owner and6 operator of Smitty's Grill as well as a member of the Early County Board of Education; and7 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern8 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his9 family and friends were admired by others; and10 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation11 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he12 made this world a better place in which to live; and13 H. R. 1420 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1165 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Trey will long be remembered for his love14 of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of15 knowing him.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Anthony Trey Harrell and18 express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized20 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the21 family of Anthony Trey Harrell.22 H.
