26 LC 129 1251 Senate Resolution 830 By: Senators Brass of the 6th, Bearden of the 30th, Goodman of the 8th, Burns of the 23rd, Robertson of the 29th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Georgia Advancing Communities Togeth er, Inc., and1 designating February 25, 2026, as Georgia ACT Housing Day at the Capitol; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, Georgia Advancing Communities Together, Inc., (Georgia ACT) is a statewide4 member organization for nonprofit affordable housing and commun ity development5 organizations; and6 WHEREAS, stable and affordable housing is a proven foundation f or improved health,7 educational outcomes, and economic mobility, and reducing homel essness benefits8 communities socially and economically; and9 WHEREAS, Georgia ACT focuses on connecting and convening Community Development10 Corporations and nonprofits to address needs and build organizational capacity to improve11 life outcomes for residents in communities across Georgia and leverage limited resources for12 Georgia families; and13 S. R. 830 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1251 WHEREAS, Georgia ACT continues to advo cate for the development of safe and decent14 housing in Georgia while ensuring neighborhoods remain a catalyst for revitalization in all15 communities; and 16 WHEREAS, Georgia ACT will host its 2026 Housing Day at the Capi tol on February 25,17 2026, providing an opportunity for members of the General Assembly to hear directly from18 constituents and housing practitioners about the importance of expanding housing supply,19 preventing homelessness, and supporting community development.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 recognize and commend Georgia Advancing Communities Together, I nc., and designate22 February 25, 2026, as Georgia ACT Housing Day at the Capitol.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Georgia25 Advancing Communities Together, Inc. 26 S.
