A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Darvin Eason; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Darvin Eason on February 16, 2026; and3
WHEREAS, Darvin Eason was born on December 11, 1939, in Screven, Georgia, a beloved4
son of J. B. and Mildred Eason; and5
WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Darvin was an active member of Lakeview6
Baptist Church; and7
WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Nancy, and was blessed with8
two remarkable children, Robbie and Wendy, and many wonderful g randchildren and9
great-grandchildren; and10
WHEREAS, he served as vice-president of Water for Life Haiti, where he tirelessly guided11
the group in its mission to provide clean drinking water, irrig ation for farming, education,12
and other means of assistance to the people of southern Haiti; and 13

WHEREAS, Darvin also served as Chairman of the Board and Direc tor Emeritus of the14
Georgia Agribusiness Council, President of the Georgia Peanut Producer's Association, and15
Chairman of the Board for South Central Georgia Gin Co.; and 16
WHEREAS, deeply involved in and loving what he did, Darvin was awarded the Blair W.17
Davis Outstanding Service Award from the Georgia Plant Food Educational Society in 200018
and was named Progressive Farmer Magazine's Man of the Year in 1996; and19
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation20
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he21
made this world a better place in which to live; and22
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Darvin Eason will long be remembered for23
his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great24
fortune of knowing him.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26
join in honoring the life and memory of Darvin Eason and expres s their deepest and most27
sincere regret at his passing.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the family of30
Darvin Eason.31
