26 LC 129 1210 House Resolution 1439 By: Representatives Reese of the 140th, Hugley of the 141st, Howard of the 129th, Herring of the 145th, and Buckner of the 137th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Ms. Ashley Rodriguez; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Ms. Ashley Rodriguez, founder of the Throw It In The B ag community2 initiative under Astrolee Vibes Event Coordination, has demonst rated exceptional civic3 leadership by launching a grassroots effort in 2022 that has mo bilized citizens across4 Columbus, Georgia, toward environmental stewardship and community revitalization; and5 WHEREAS, since its inception, the initiative has conducted organized quarterly cleanups,6 averaging three major cleanups annually across multiple districts within Columbus, Georgia,7 including historically significant and underserved communities, strengthening neighborhood8 pride and environmental responsibility; and9 WHEREAS, the initiative consistently engages an average of 20 v olunteers per cleanup,10 providing structured roles, safety resources, and community collaboration opportunities that11 foster unity, accountability, and positive civic participation; and12 WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez has prioritized youth development by iss uing verified13 community service credit letters for student volunteers and awa rding a $500 college14 H. R. 1439 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1210 scholarship in 2025 to a graduating senior in recognition of se rvice and academic15 commitment; and16 WHEREAS, through partnerships with local businesses, schools, c ivic organizations, and17 community stakeholders, the initiative has expanded its reach and visibility, reinforcing the18 principle that sustained collaboration strengthens both environ mental outcomes and19 economic vitality; and20 WHEREAS, Ms. Rodriguez's vision to establish Throw It In The Bag as a central community21 service hub for the Muscogee County School District reflects a long-term commitment to22 leadership development, civic pride, youth empowerment, and community sustainability.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Ms. Ashley Rodri guez and exted their25 sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ms.28 Ashley Rodriguez.29 H.
