26 LC 49 2700 House Bill 1403 By: Representatives Martinez of the 111th, Reeves of the 99th, Leverett of the 123rd, Bonner of the 73rd, Scoggins of the 14th, and others A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Chapter 1 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to1 general provisions relative to courts, so as to provide for ser vice by judges, justices, court2 officers, and other individuals as a judge advocate in certain capacities; to provide for3 construction; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflic ting laws; and for other4 purposes.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6 SECTION 1.7 Chapter 1 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated , relating to general8 provisions relative to courts, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:9 "15-1-8.1.10 Notwithstanding any other law, rule, or regulation, no judge or justice of any court or11 administrative body, magistrate, presiding officer of any inferior judicature or commission,12 clerk of court, or any other officer of the courts and tribunals of this state shall be limited13 in any way from serving as a judge advocate or offering advice in his or her role as a judge14 advocate, or in any other position, in a reserve component of the United States military or15 H.
