A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Clarence Taylor upon his 70th bir thday; and for other1
purposes.2
WHEREAS, Clarence Taylor was born on March 4, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia, and this3
year he enjoys the rare distinction of celebrating his 70th birthday; and4
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high5
ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens; and 6
WHEREAS, Clarence Taylor's life is a testament to faith, service, and perseverance– from7
humble beginnings as a maintenance worker to becoming a respect ed funeral director and8
community leader; and 9
WHEREAS, his legacy continues through his unwavering commitment to excellence,10
compassion, and public service; and11
WHEREAS, Clarence Taylor possesses the vast wisdom which only c omes through12
experience and the strength of character which is achieved thro ugh overcoming the many13
challenges of life; and14

WHEREAS, a kind and generous person, Clarence Taylor brings joy and happiness to his15
family and to the many friends and neighbors who have the great pleasure of knowing him;16
and17
WHEREAS, he has witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of his lifetime18
and we salute his contribution to its progress by his own hard work and good citizenship; and19
WHEREAS, by the example Clarence Taylor has made of his life, h e makes this world a20
better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and prope r that he be appropriately21
recognized during this very special and memorable time.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23
the members of this body commend Clarence Taylor for his unselfish, dedicated, and loving24
service to the members of his family and state; congratulate him on the remarkable occasion25
of his 70th birthday; and extend their most sincere best wishes for continued health and26
happiness.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to29
Clarence Taylor.30
