26 LC 129 1254 House Resolution 1447 By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110th, Beckles of the 96th, Dawson of the 65th, Ali of the 106th, Jackson of the 68th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Jacques Laurent; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Jacques Laurent, born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, settled in the State of Georgia2 in 1997, and has since activity supported the community in innumerable ways; and3 WHEREAS, currently he serves as chairman of the Georgia Haitian-American Chamber of4 Commerce, Inc; treasurer of the NAACP Georgia State Conference; and vice president of5 Caribbean Georgia Votes, Inc.; and6 WHEREAS, Jacques' significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience7 and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state8 have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and9 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for10 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and11 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this12 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.13 H. R. 1447 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1254 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that14 the members of this body recognize and commend Jacques Laurent for his efficient,15 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most16 sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized18 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to19 Jacques Laurent.20 H.
