26 LC 129 1162 House Resolution 1457 By: Representative Ehrhart of the 36th A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 24, 2026, as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Day at the state1 capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the more than 18,000 Advanced Practice Registered Nurs es (APRNs) in3 Georgia represent a critical and highly skilled segment of the state's health care workforce,4 and are vital to the medical well-being of our citizens; and5 WHEREAS, APRNs, including nurse practitioners, certified regist ered nurse anesthetists,6 certified nurse-midwives, and clinical nurse specialists, provide high-quality, evidence-based,7 patient-centered care across diverse practice settings; and8 WHEREAS, APRNs play an indispens able role in improving access t o primary care,9 specialty care, anesthesia services, behavioral health services , maternal health, and10 preventive services throughout the State of Georgia; and11 WHEREAS, the aging of the population, ongoing provider shortage s, reduction of health12 care access in rural communities, and the increasing complexity of patient needs have le to13 greater reliance upon APRNs to meet health care demands; and14 H. R. 1457 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1162 WHEREAS, APRNs serve in hospitals, outpatient clinics, private practices, community15 health centers, home health settings, long-term care facilities, and underserved rural areas,16 strengthening Georgia’s health care delivery system; and17 WHEREAS, continued recognition and support of APRNs promotes im proved health18 outcomes, increased access to care, and a stronger healthcare infrastructure across this state.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body recognize February 24, 2026, as Advanc ed Practice Registered21 Nurses Day at the state capitol and commend the men and women o f Georgia’s APRN22 workforce for their leadership, expertise, and dedication to ad vancing health care for all23 Georgians.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the26 public and the press.27 H.
