HB1445: HB1445 Juvenile proceedings; authorize sharing of GPS monitoring with law enforcement and school districts

26 LC 48 1813S The House Committee on Judiciary, Juvenile offers the following substitute to HB 1445: A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Part 12 of Article 6 of Chapter 11 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia1 Annotated, relating to disposition of delinquency in the juveni le code, so as to authorize2 sharing of electronic monitoring with law enforcement agencies, local school systems, and3 public schools; to provide for related matters; to repeal confl icting laws; and for other4 purposes.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6 SECTION 1.7 Part 12 of Article 6 of Chapter 11 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated,8 relating to disposition of delinquency in the juvenile code, is amended by adding a new Code9 section to read as follows:10 "15-11-605.1.11 Upon request by any state or local law enforcement agency or local school system or other12 public school, the DJJ shall share the names of children on electronic monitoring, as such13 term is defined in Code Section 42-3-111, and provide notifications of any violations and14 deactivations with such law enforcement agencies or local school systems or other public15 schools upon verification that such child is physically located within the respective16 H.
