26 LC 129 1288 Senate Resolution 843 By: Senators Parkes of the 7th, Jackson of the 41st, Kemp of th e 38th, Merritt of the 9th, Mallow of the 2nd and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 9, 2026, as Young Democrats of Georgia Day at the state capitol; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Young Democrats of Georgia represent young people from all over the state3 of Georgia between the ages of 14 and 40 that support the Democratic Party; and 4 WHEREAS, engaging young people in federal, state, and local politics is the primary goal5 of the Young Democrats of Georgia; and 6 WHEREAS, young people play a critical role in fostering a healthy democracy; and7 WHEREAS, there are many issues that impact young Georgians in t heir everyday lives,8 including housing, climate change, and affordability; and9 WHEREAS, members of the Young Democrats of Georgia have demonst rated their10 dedication to participating in state politics; and 11 WHEREAS, many Young Democrats serve, or have served under the Gold Dome as aides,12 interns, and staff, and even as members of the General Assembly; and 13 S. R. 843 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1288 WHEREAS, many Young Democrats will visit the state capitol on March 9, 2026, for Young14 Democrats of Georgia Day at the state capitol; and15 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Young Dem ocrats of Georgia are16 recognized for their hard work. 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18 March 9, 2026, as Young Democrats of Georgia Day at the state capitol.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed20 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for dis tribution to the Young21 Democrats of Georgia, the public, and the press.22 S.
