A RESOLUTION
Honoring the 3rd Infantry Division and Brigadier General John W. Lubas and recognizing1
February 25, 2026, as Fort Stewart–Liberty County Day at the Ca pitol; and for other2
purposes.3
WHEREAS, the 3rd Infantry Division of the United States Army, k nown proudly as the4
"Rock of the Marne," has served with distinction and valor sinc e its activation in 1917,5
earning a legacy of courage and sacrifice in major conflicts across the world; and6
WHEREAS, the 3rd Infantry Division has played a pivotal role in the defense of freedom,7
participating in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Ope ration Desert Storm,8
Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and numerous other missions critical9
to the security of the United States of America; and10
WHEREAS, Fort Stewart in Liberty County, Georgia, serves as the home station of the 3rd11
Infantry Division and stands as a cornerstone of national defen se, readiness, and global12
response capability; and13
WHEREAS, Brigadier General John W. Lubas, serving with distinct ion as the Deputy14
Commanding General of the 3rd Infantry Division, has demonstrated exceptional leadership,15

commitment to mission excellence, and deep dedication to the welfare of soldiers, families,16
and the community; and17
WHEREAS, the soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division, alongside their families and civilian18
partners, exemplify selfless service, resilience, and unity in support of the nation and the19
State of Georgia; and20
WHEREAS, Liberty County stands as a proud military-friendly community, fostering strong21
civilian-military partnerships that enhance quality of life, economic vitality, and support for22
service members and their families; and23
WHEREAS, Fort Stewart–Liberty County Day at the Capitol provide s a meaningful24
opportunity for state leaders, community stakeholders, and memb ers of the General25
Assembly to recognize the vital contributions of the 3rd Infantry Division, Brigadier General26
John W. Lubas, and Deputy Commanding General of Support Kevin D. Bradley to Georgia27
and the nation.28
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29
the members of this body honor the 3rd Infantry Division for its historic legacy of excellence,30
commend Brigadier General John W. Lubas and Deputy Commanding General of Support31
Kevin D. Bradley for their distinguished leadership and service, and recognize February 25,32
2026, as Fort Stewart–Liberty County Day at the Capitol.33
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to35
representatives of the 3rd Infantry Division, Brigadier General John W. Lubas, and Deputy36
Commanding General of Support Kevin D. Bradley.37
