A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Elizabeth “Betty” Blackie Ricch iuti; and for other1
purposes.2
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens3
with the passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Blackie Ricchiuti on January 29, 2026; and4
WHEREAS, Elizabeth “Betty” Blackie Ricchiuti was born on Novemb er 1, 1943, in5
Scotland, a beloved beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch; and6
WHEREAS, she was a devoted and loyal wife and mother who built a home filled with love,7
laughter, and unwavering support, and was known for challenging those around her to be8
better people, not through force, but through example, grace, a nd steadfast belief in them;9
and10
WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, Jo seph Robert “Bob”11
Ricchiuti, and was blessed with one remarkable child, Robert “Bobby” Ricchiuti; and12

WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern13
for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to14
her family and friends were admired by others; and15
WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation16
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,17
she made this world a better place in which to live; and18
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Betty will long be remembered for her19
love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great20
fortune of knowing her.21
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Elizabeth “Betty” Blackie23
Ricchiuti and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the26
family of Elizabeth “Betty” Blackie Ricchiuti.27
