26 LC 129 1238 House Resolution 1490 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63rd, Miller of the 62nd, Olaleye of the 59th, and Scott of the 76th A RESOLUTION Recognizing the City of East Point; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the City of East Point is located in Fulton County, Georgia, and operates under2 a Council-Manager form of government; and3 WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council serve as the legislative body, while a City Manager4 is appointed to oversee daily city operations; and 5 WHEREAS, East Point is divided into four wards, with each ward represented by two6 council members, for a total of eight council members; and7 WHEREAS, Keisha Chapman serves as the dedicated and passionate Mayor of the City of8 East Point, presiding over City Council meetings and serving as the City's chief elected9 official; and10 WHEREAS, City Council Members include, Dr. Japera Hemming and Eric Friedly of Ward11 A, Shean L. Atkins and Carrie Ziegler of Ward B, T. Starr Cummi ngs and Tremayne12 Mitchell of Ward C, and Andrea Caldwell and Dr. LaTonya Martin Rogers of Ward D; and13 H. R. 1490 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1238 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding city and its exemplary14 leadership be appropriately honored.15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16 the members of this body recognize the City of East Point, Georgia, and commend its Mayor17 and City Council Members.18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized19 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the20 City of East Point.21 H.
