26 LC 129 1263 Senate Resolution 863 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Wicks of the 34th, Harbison of the 15th, Sims of the 12th, Davenport of the 17th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Diesha Ranaldson-Blackmon; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Diesha Ranaldson-Blackmon has long been recognized by the citizens of this2 state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment3 to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, she served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United5 States Navy, valiantly and courageously protecting her fellow Americans; and6 WHEREAS, in 2009, she enlisted in the United States Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman7 and during Basic Training she was elected Airman of the Divisio n (AROC), a distinction8 recognizing exemplary leadership, accountability, and peer mentorship; and 9 WHEREAS, throughout her decade of service, Diesha completed adv anced training in10 Pensacola, Florida and Virginia Beach, Virginia, and honorably served aboard the U.S.S.11 Carl Vinson; and12 WHEREAS, she concluded her naval career as a Petty Officer at Naval Air Station Lemoore13 in September 2019; and14 S. R. 863 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1263 WHEREAS, Diesha continued her dedication to service by furtheri ng her education in15 nursing and psychology, as well as serving as the Public Relati ons Chair for the National16 Association of Black Military Women (NABMW), Atlanta Metropolitan Chapter; and17 WHEREAS, she currently serves as a Life Coach with Sanctum Peac e , a h e a l t h a n d18 wellness-based community stability initiative, where she provides resilience-focused mental19 wellness support to veterans and contributes to veteran-centere d outreach and community20 engagement efforts; and21 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for22 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this24 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize and commend Diesha Ranaldson-Blackmon and extend the most sincere best27 wishes for continued health and happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Diesha30 Ranaldson-Blackmon.31 S.
