26 LC 112 3738 House Resolution 1487 By: Representatives Persinger of the 119th, Gambill of the 15th, Crawford of the 89th, Cox of the 28th, Evans of the 57th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating Atlanta Track Club Elite for their world record performance at the 2026 Penn1 Classic; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Atlanta Track Club Elite has established and maintaine d a distinguished3 tradition of excellence in track and field competition through disciplined preparation,4 teamwork, and competitive integrity; and5 WHEREAS, the team has brought much recognition to the State of Georgia by competing6 at the 2026 Penn Classic held in Philadelphia, where they delivered a historic performance7 in the indoor men's 4x800-meter relay; and8 WHEREAS, Clay Pender set the tone for the record-breaking effor t with an aggressive9 lead-off leg, handing the baton to Luke Houser, who sustained the team's pace through the10 second leg, followed by Luciano Fiore, whose strong third leg p ositioned the team with a11 six-second advantage entering the final exchange; and12 WHEREAS, anchoring the relay, Sean Dolan delivered a commanding final leg, extending13 the team's lead to nearly 12 seconds at the finish with individual splits of 1:49.69, 1:47.47,14 1:47.35, and 1:45.79 respectively; and15 H. R. 1487 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3738 WHEREAS, the team's combined time of 7:10.29 shattered the prev ious indoor men's16 4x800-meter relay world record by 1.01 seconds, surpassing the mark set in 2018 and firmly17 etching Atlanta Track Club Elite into the record books; and18 WHEREAS, through months of training, coordination, and competition, this extraordinary19 team has demonstrated unity of purpose, exceptional athletic ab ility, and competitive20 excellence worthy of the highest recognition.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body congratulate Atlanta Track Club Elite for their world record23 performance at the 2026 Penn Classic and extend best wishes for continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Clay26 Pender, Luke Houser, Luciano Fiore, and Sean Dolan.27 H.
