26 LC 39 4987 Senate Resolution 868 By: Senators Hatchett of the 50th, Robertson of the 29th, Strickland of the 42nd and Watson of the 1st A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Mr. Richard Keith "Rick" Worley and dedicating an intersection in his1 memory; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Keith "Rick" Worley devoted his life and career to the community3 of Catoosa County and Ringgold, Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, a native of Catoosa County and cornerstone to his comm unity, Mr. Worley5 graduated from Ringgold High School and successfully owned and operated the Rick Worley6 and Son Autobody shop; and7 WHEREAS, after the tragic passing of his son in 2010, Mr. Worley established the Hunter8 Worley Foundation which assists grieving parents in North Georgia and Tennessee Valley9 with funeral and burial expenses; and10 WHEREAS, Mr. Worley gave selflessly to his local community through his work sponsoring11 numerous fundraising efforts at Graysville Elementary School an d local middle and high12 schools in Catoosa County; and13 S. R. 868 - 1 - 26 LC 39 4987 WHEREAS, he provided professional services to local police and fire departments and14 frequently donated equipment and drivers for community parades; and15 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished16 Georgian be appropriately recognized by dedicating an intersection in his memory.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL18 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the intersection of State Route 3/US-41 and Chapman Road19 in Catoosa County is dedicated as the Richard Keith "Rick" Worley Memorial Intersection.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and21 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Richard Keith "Rick" Worley22 Memorial Intersection.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Mr.25 Richard Keith "Rick" Worley and to the Department of Transportation.26 S.
