26 LC 112 3726 House Resolution 1492 By: Representatives Beckles of the 96th, Okoye of the 102nd, Adeyina of the 110th, Clark of the 108th, McClain of the 109th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending the City of Duluth and recognizing March 3, 2026, as Duluth Day at the1 Capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the City of Duluth, located in Gwinnett County, is a v ibrant, diverse, and3 thriving municipality distinguished by its strong civic leadership, economic vitality, cultural4 enrichment, and commitment to innovation and community engagement; and5 WHEREAS, Duluth's elected officials, municipal staff, business leaders, educators, and6 residents work collaboratively to enhance quality of life, strengthen small businesses, support7 families, and promote sustainable growth; and8 WHEREAS, the observance of Duluth Day at the Capitol provides an important opportunity9 for leaders and stakeholders from Duluth to visit the Georgia S tate Capitol in Atlanta to10 engage with state officials, foster intergovernmental partnerships, and advocate for initiatives11 that benefit both their local community and the State of Georgia; and12 WHEREAS, civic participation and collaboration between municipal and state governments13 strengthen public policy outcomes and reflect the shared commitment to service that defines14 Georgia's communities; and15 H. R. 1492 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3726 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that this legislative body re cognize the significant16 contributions of the City of Duluth during this special time.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body commend the City of Duluth for its lea dership and community19 spirit; recognize March 3, 2026, as Duluth Day at the Capitol; and extend best wishes for20 continued success and prosperity.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the23 Mayor and City Council of Duluth.24 H.
