A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Jon Oscher; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Jon Oscher on February 19, 2026; and3
WHEREAS, Jon Oscher was born on December 17, 1932, in the Bronx , New York, a4
beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather; and5
WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Dot, and was blessed with two6
remarkable children, Lorri and David, and two wonderful grandchildren, Connor and Reilly;7
and8
WHEREAS, Jon was a proud Georgia Tech Alumni, passionate philan thropist, and a true9
pioneer in the cable television industry; and10
WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern11
for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his12
family and friends were admired by others; and13

WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation14
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he15
made this world a better place in which to live; and16
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Jon will long be remembered for his love17
of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of18
knowing him.19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20
join in honoring the life and memory of Jon Oscher and express their deepest and most21
sincere regret at his passing.22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Jon24
Oscher.25
