26 LC 112 3724 Senate Resolution 855 By: Senators Williams of the 25th, Walker III of the 20th, Robertson of the 29th, Still of the 48th, Albers of the 56th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Georgia Academy of Audiology; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Georgia Academy of Audiology is an association composed of audiologists2 who live and practice in all areas of Georgia; and3 WHEREAS, annually, many Georgians are impacted by hearing loss and balance disorders; 4 and5 WHEREAS, licensed audiologists work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals6 as well as on their own to provide evaluation and treatment options for hearing and balance7 disorders; and8 WHEREAS, these audiologists hold doctorates from accredited universities with specialized9 training programs to help with the identification, assessment, and treatment of hearing loss10 and balance disorders; and11 WHEREAS, Georgia audiologists dedicate countless hours to educa ting citizens about12 prevention efforts; and13 S. R. 855 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3724 WHEREAS, these professionals work in a variety of practice sett ings, including private14 practices, hospitals, clinics, physician offices, pre-K-12 scho ols, research institutions, and15 government and military institutions; and16 WHEREAS, many of the members of the Georgia Academy of Audiology are also members17 of the American Academy of Audiology, which works closely with the Academy of Doctors18 of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this20 organization and its members be appropriately recognized for their contributions in providing21 healthcare in our state, including their leadership on healthcare policy.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body23 recognize and commend the Georgia Academy of Audiology for its years of efficient,24 effective, and dedicated public service to the citizens of this state and extend their most25 sincere best wishes for continued success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Georgia28 Academy of Audiology.29 S.
