26 LC 129 1296 Senate Resolution 867 By: Senators James of the 28th, Rhett of the 33rd, Howard of th e 35th, Kemp of the 38th, Brass of the 6th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc.; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc., (PUFW) is a non-profit organization2 dedicated to empowering women who have experienced or are exper iencing domestic3 violence; and 4 WHEREAS, PUFW provides grants, resources, and support systems t hat foster healing,5 independence, and renewed purpose; and6 WHEREAS, several times a year, PUFW hosts a revolutionary boot camp consisting of7 courses in interviewing skills, financial literacy, resume writing, and dressing for success;8 and9 WHEREAS, the organization also provides grants for women to ass ist them with utilities,10 phone, and gas bills, allowing women to focus on their recovery without significant financial11 burden; and12 S. R. 867 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1296 WHEREAS, since 2015, PUFW has used its own funding to provide b ook scholarships to13 12th grade girls, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive through education and personal14 development; and15 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this extraord inary organization be16 appropriately honored.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18 recognize and commend Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc., for its unwavering19 commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Possibilities22 Unlimited for Women, Inc.23 S.
