26 LC 129 1290 House Resolution 1501 By: Representatives Mathiak of the 82nd, Burns of the 159th, and Jones of the 143rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Dr. Guy F. Riekeman; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Dr. Guy F. Riekeman; and3 WHEREAS, a passionate chiropractor, visionary leader, an belove d past Chancellor and4 President of Life University, Dr. Riekeman devoted more than five decades to advancing the5 chiropractic profession and impacted the lives of countless students, patients, and colleagues;6 and7 WHEREAS, he served as President of Life University from 2004 th rough 2017, where he8 revitalized the institution and solidified its standing as a premier institution in chiropractic9 and health sciences education; and10 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern11 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his12 family and friends were admired by others; and13 H. R. 1501 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1290 WHEREAS, Dr. Riekeman was the proud father of two wonderful chi ldren, Alexis and14 Vanessa, and the grandfather of three remarkable grandsons, Tyler, Cael, and Alec; and15 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation16 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he17 made this world a better place in which to live; and18 WHEREAS, as the author of Your Extraordinary Life, Dr. Riekeman inspired readers to19 follow in his footsteps, recognizing and achieving the extraordinary within themselves; and 20 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Dr. Riekeman will long be remembered for21 his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great22 fortune of knowing him.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Dr. Guy F. Riekeman and25 express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 family of Dr. Guy F.
