26 LC 129 1232 House Resolution 1510 By: Representatives Baker of the 64th and Alexander of the 66th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Ord er of Eastern Star,1 Prince Hall Origin, Jurisdiction of Georgia, for 80 years of ex emplary service, leadership,2 and charitable contributions to communities throughout the State of Georgia; and for other3 purposes.4 WHEREAS, the Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Origin,5 Jurisdiction of Georgia, was officially petitioned on October 12, 1945, and duly organized6 on December 15, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia; and7 WHEREAS, the organization has served for 80 years as a statewide charitable and fraternal8 body grounded in the principles of love, truth, and charity; and9 WHEREAS, the organization is the Sister body to the Smooth Ashlar Grand Lodge of Free10 and Accepted Ancient York Rite Masons, Prince Hall Origin; and11 WHEREAS, under the leadership of Grand Worthy Matron Sister Aim ee Wallace-Hodo,12 along with its elected and appointed officers, the organization continues to advance programs13 including educational scholarships, food and supply drives, pri son outreach efforts, breast14 H. R. 1510 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1232 cancer awareness initiatives, and youth mentoring and other com munity-based charitable15 projects across the State of Georgia; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to honor this outstanding organization upon17 such a monumental milestone in its history.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body recognize and commend the Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order20 of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Origin, Jurisdiction of Georgia, o n the occasion of its 80th21 Anniversary and express sincere appreciation for its decades of service, compassion, and22 leadership .23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25 Smooth Ashlar Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall Origin, Jurisdiction of26 Georgia.27 H.
