A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend an Act to create and establish in DeKalb County, Georg ia, districts from which1
the members of the County Board of Education of DeKalb County shall be elected, approved2
April 12, 1963 (Ga. L. 1963, p. 3424), as amended, particularly by an Act approved3
March 14, 1984 (Ga. L. 1984, p. 4192), an Act approved May 10, 2021 (Ga. L. 2021, p.4
4256), and an Act approved May 13, 2025 (Ga. L. 2025, p. 4069), so as to revise provisions5
related to changes in boundaries of the DeKalb County school di strict following certain6
annexations; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.7
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:8
SECTION 1.9
An Act to create and establish in DeKalb County, Georgia, districts from which the members10
of the County Board of Education of DeKalb County shall be elec ted, approved April 12,11
1963 (Ga. L. 1963, p. 3424), as amended, particularly by an Act approved March 14, 198412
(Ga. L. 1984, p. 4192), an Act approved May 10, 2021 (Ga. L. 20 21, p. 4256), and an Act13
approved May 13, 2025 (Ga. L. 2025, p. 4069), is amended by adding a new subsection to14
Section 3.2 to read as follows:15
"(h) Pursuant to subsection (g) of this section, the provisions of this section shall not apply16
to the residential property identified on the effective date of this Act as 1195 University17

Drive, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30306. Such property shall be removed from the boundaries18
of the DeKalb County school district and placed within the boun daries of the Atlanta19
Independent School System."20
SECTION 2.21
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed. 22
