26 LC 129 1203 House Resolution 1516 By: Representatives Dempsey of the 13th, Lumsden of the 12th, and Barton of the 5th A RESOLUTION Commending Al Shorey, Darlington High School's 2025-2026 STAR Teacher; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most3 important objective of the General Assembly; and4 WHEREAS, Al Shorey has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role5 that he has played in the teaching profession and his deep pers onal commitment to the6 education of the students of Georgia; and7 WHEREAS, Al Shorey has earned distinction for teaching excellence and has been honored8 as Darlington High School's 2025-2026 STAR Teacher; and9 WHEREAS, in recognition of his contributions to the education and welfare of young people10 in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this bod y to honor the extraordinary11 accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding educator.12 H. R. 1516 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1203 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that13 the members of this body commend Al Shorey, Darlington High School's 2025-2026 STAR14 Teacher, and express their most sincere best wishes for continued success.15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized16 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Al17 Shorey.18 H.
