26 HB 1500/AP House Bill 1500 (AS PASSED HOUSE AND SENATE) By: Representatives Reeves of the 99 th, Hong of the 103 rd, Clark of the 100 th, Park of the 107th, Beckles of the 96th, and others A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend an Act creating a new charter for the City of Suwanee, approved April 9, 19991 (Ga. L. 1999, p. 3729), as amended, particularly by an Act appr oved May 3, 2023 (Ga. L.2 2023, p. 4425), so as to change the corporate limits of such ci ty; to provide for related3 matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5 SECTION 1.6 An Act creating a new charter for the City of Suwanee, approved April 9, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999,7 p. 3729), as amended, particularly by an Act approved May 3, 2023 (Ga. L. 2023, p. 4425),8 is amended in Section 1.11 by adding new subsections to read as follows:9 "(f) Any other provisions of this section to the contrary notwi thstanding, the following10 described property is included within the boundaries of the City of Suwanee as described11 in the records of the Gwinnett County Tax Assessor on the effective date of this subsection: 12 7168 001, 7168 001A, 7168 019, 7195 002, 7195 062, 7195 068, an d all of the13 unincorporated portions of the right-of-way of McGinnis Ferry Road as follows: beginning14 at the southernmost point of parcel 7168 021 which is the point of beginning, proceed15 southwest 160 feet to edge of the right-of-way of McGinnis Ferr y Road, then proceed16 H. B. 1500 - 1 - 26 HB 1500/AP northwest along the southern boundary of the right-of-way of Mc Ginnis Ferry17 approximately 3,780 feet Road to the southernmost point of parcel number 7195 051 which18 is the existing Suwanee city limits, then proceed northeast approximately 190 feet to the19 northern side of the right-of-way of McGinnis Ferry Road, then proceed southeast along20 the edge of the right-of-way of McGinnis Ferry Road approximately 4,040 feet to the point21 of beginning. Said areas specifically include the intersections of McGinnis Ferry Road and22 Wildwood Road, Satellite Boulevard, and Northholt Parkway.23 Said area consists of approximately 93 acres.24 (g) Any other provisions of this section to the contrary notwi thstanding, the following25 described property is removed from the boundaries of the City of Suwanee as described in26 the records of the Gwinnett County Tax Assessor on the effective date of this subsection:27 7152 004A and any adjacent right-of-way of McGinnis Ferry Road and I-85.28 Said area consists of approximately 8 acres."29 SECTION 2.30 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.31 H.
