26 LC 112 3810 House Resolution 1542 By: Representative Herring of the 145th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Julia Wood; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Georgia House of Representatives is proud to join the Career Women's2 Network in celebrating Julia Wood upon her recognition as the C areer Women's Network3 Woman of Achievement 2026; and4 WHEREAS, Julia Wood earned a Master of Business Administration from Mercer5 University in 2005 and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Georgia in6 2002; and7 WHEREAS, Julia Wood joined The Community Foundation of Central Georgia in 2008 and8 has faithfully served our community since, advancing to the position of Senior Vice President9 of Development and Donor Services, where she supports donors and professional advisors10 in establishing funds that strengthen the growth and vibrancy of Macon-Bibb County and its11 region; and12 WHEREAS, throughout her career, Julia Wood has demonstrated a s teadfast commitment13 to excellence, earning certification as a 21/64 advisor for family philanthropy, obtaining the14 H. R. 1542 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3810 Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from The American College, and serving as15 a member of the Central Georgia Estate Planning Council; and16 WHEREAS, Julia Wood has served her community with distinction in numerous leadership17 and service roles, including membership in the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon since 2005;18 service as Girl Scout Troop #60043 Leader since 2013; leadershi p as Board Chair of the19 Museum of Arts and Sciences in 2017; graduation from Leadership Macon in 2007 and20 Leadership Georgia in 2020–2021; recognition as a 2011 5 Under 40 Young Leader by21 Macon Magazine; and co-founding the I Love Macon campaign; and22 WHEREAS, Julia Wood served as President of the Junior League of Macon, and under her23 leadership, the organization received the Association of Junior Leagues International Fund24 Development Award in 2013 for establishing a strong and diversi fied fund development25 strategy—she was honored with the Angela Meadors Spirit Award in 2010 in recognition of26 her attitude, willingness to serve, and exemplary dedication to the Junior League; and27 WHEREAS, Julia Wood's leadership, integrity, and service have left an indelible mark on28 the Macon-Bibb community and all who have had the privilege of working alongside her.29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that30 the members of this body recognize and commend Julia Wood upon being named the Career31 Women's Network Woman of Achievement 2026 and extend best wishe s for continued32 success.33 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized34 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Julia35 Wood.36 H.
