A RESOLUTION
Commending the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia and recognizing March 9, 2026, as1
Scouts Day at the Capitol; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America is an organization dedicated to training youth in3
responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a4
wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and service projects; and5
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia are the most acti ve group in the state6
with over 40,000 scouts and more than 3,500 adult leaders in more than 600 units; and7
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia have contributed to the state's8
communities through their service projects and their commitment to the ideals of Scouting;9
and10
WHEREAS, the annual Scouts Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity for Scouts to learn11
about their government and to engage in dialogue with their sen ators in the Georgia State12
Senate.13

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body14
commend the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia for their commitme nt to the values and15
principles of Scouting and for their service to the state.16
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize March 9, 2026, as17
Scouts Day at the Capitol and encourage all elected officials t o take part in the events to18
show appreciation for the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia.19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed20
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the21
press.22
