Senate Resolution 895

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Veatra Cruz; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Veatra Cruz is a United States Navy veteran, licensed cosmetologist, and2
community leader whose work exists at the powerful intersection of service, creativity, and3
advocacy; and4
WHEREAS, following her military service, she established a distinguished professional path5
as a licensed cosmetologist and entrepreneur by founding Veatra Beauty, a purpose-driven6
brand that advances confidence, healing, and self-care through beauty and creative7
expression; and8
WHEREAS, she additionally serves as the founder and chief execu tive officer of The9
Women Veterans Company, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and amplifying10
Black women veterans and other historically marginalized vetera n communities as they11
transition from military to civilian life; and12
WHEREAS, through sustained community leadership, Veatra Cruz ha s led and supported13
numerous community-centered programs across Georgia, including wellness workshops,14

educational courses, resource referral initiatives, and collabo rative events with local15
businesses, schools, and veteran-serving organizations; and16
WHEREAS, she has further demonstrated her commitment to service by volunteering17
hundreds of hours annually, serving in outreach and advisory ro les, and applying her18
professional expertise in marketing, design, education, and eve nt production to uplift19
individuals and strengthen community networks; and20
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this veteran, entrepreneur, and21
community leader be appropriately honored for her dedication to service, advocacy, and the22
well-being of her fellow citizens.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
recognize and commend Veatra Cruz for her honorable military service, nonprofit leadership,25
and continued dedication to community-centered advocacy as well as extend best wishes for26
continued success.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Veatra Cruz.29
