26 LC 129 1306 House Resolution 1576 By: Representative Moore of the 91st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Aziah De'Souza; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Aziah De'Souza, a 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutan te, is the2 accomplished daughter of Mr. Liston De'Souza and Ms. Shareka Garrett; and3 WHEREAS, through her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Co tillion debutante4 program, Aziah has been supported and encouraged to grow in str ength, character,5 confidence, and purpose; and6 WHEREAS, she is an 11th grade student attending East Side High School, where she shines7 both academically and athletically; and 8 WHEREAS, a dedicated cheerleader, Aziah balances her commitment to her team with an9 impressive academic record; and10 WHEREAS, she has been a member of the STEM Program at Newton County College and11 Career Academy and the ALANAS program at Newton High School sin ce her freshman12 year, as well as attends Georgia State University through its dual enrollment program; and13 H. R. 1576 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1306 WHEREAS, each debutante completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and14 maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9; and15 WHEREAS, throughout the program, the young women participated i n transformative16 workshops and experiences designed to challenge and inspire them; and 17 WHEREAS, a defining moment of the season was their visit to the Georgia State Capitol,18 where they were recognized during the legislative session and had the opportunity to speak19 on issues important to them–demonstrating that their voices mat ter and their purpose is20 already in action; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing young woman be22 appropriately honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Aziah De'Souza f or her unwavering25 commitment to service, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Aziah28 De'Souza.29 H.
