A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life of Mr. Teddy Ray Webb and dedicating a bridge in his memory; and for1
other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Mr. Teddy Ray Webb has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for3
the vital role that he played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4
of the citizens of Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb was born in Hartwell, Georgia, on October 26, 1956, the beloved son6
of Ira and Carol Ann Webb; and7
WHEREAS, he hailed from a family who dedicated their lives to b ridge construction in8
Georgia and visited worksites at a young age with his grandfather, father, and uncles; and9
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb began his career in bridge construction in 19 74, and during his10
illustrious 50 year career he traveled the state and trained numerous workers in a variety of11
vocational skills related to construction; and12
WHEREAS, Mr. Webb worked diligently on projects within his comm unity, including13
renovations to ball fields and concession stands for the Johnso n County Recreation14

Department and renovations to the press box and weight room of Johnson County High15
School; and16
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation17
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he18
made this world a better place in which to live; and19
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished20
Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a bridge in his memory.21
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL22
ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the bridge on State Route 7 over Cedar Creek in Crisp23
County is dedicated as the Teddy Ray Webb Memorial Bridge.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and25
directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Teddy Ray Webb Memorial26
Bridge.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the29
family of Mr. Teddy Ray Webb and to the Department of Transportation.30
