26 LC 112 3734 House Resolution 1571 By: Representatives Alexander of the 66th, New of the 40th, Baker of the 64th, and Taylor of the 92nd A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Judy McClendon-Redmond for receiving the 2026 Yellow1 Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Women's Legislative Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Judy McClendon-Redmond, a resident of Douglasville, Georgia, has dedicated10 her life to service, leadership, and the upliftment of others through her professional career,11 community involvement, and faith-based work, consistently placi ng the needs of others12 before herself; and13 WHEREAS, a retired management employee with AT&T, Judy McClendo n-Redmond14 served for 29 years in the company's Corporate Finance department, during which time she15 H. R. 1571 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3734 became widely known among her colleagues and clients for her co nstant willingness to16 assist, encourage, and advocate for others; and17 WHEREAS, she is the founder and a director of the Rare Pearls Leadership and Mentoring18 Program Inc. and the owner of Another Creation by Lady J Event Management Group,19 through which she applies her talents as an event professional, seamstress, embroiderer, and20 fashion designer to mentor, empower, and develop others with excellence and care; and21 WHEREAS, her service further includes teaching third and fourth grades in Douglasville,22 Georgia, active leadership and membership in numerous civic, professional, and faith-based23 organizations, and ongoing mentorship of youth, women, and families; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the exception al servant leadership,25 compassion, and lasting contributions of Judy McClendon-Redmond to her community, the26 State of Georgia, and beyond be formally honored.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body congratulate and commend Judy McClendo n-Redmond for29 receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and extend best30 wishes for her continued success.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Judy33 McClendon-Redmond.34 H.
