26 LC 129 1305 House Resolution 1566 By: Representative Moore of the 91st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending E’Maya Asbury; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, E’Maya Asbury, a 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debutant e, is the2 accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Asbury; and3 WHEREAS, through her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Co tillion debutante4 program, E’Maya has been supported and encouraged to grow in st rength, character,5 confidence, and purpose; and6 WHEREAS, a junior attending Heritage High School, E'Maya exemplifies the true meaning7 of being a student-athlete; and 8 WHEREAS, she competed in the Junior Olympics and is ranked in the top ten in the state in9 the 300 Hurdlers as well as is number one in her region; and10 WHEREAS, she is also a member of the Audio and Film program at Rockdale Career11 Academy and is involved in the BETA Club and FCCLA; and12 H. R. 1566 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1305 WHEREAS, E'Maya serves as a Gleaner and holds the seat of Chapl ain with the St. Paul13 Grand Lodge and Tinashe Grande Chapter Order of the Eastern Stars, where she is an active14 member who helps to bring the community together and supports youth in need; and 15 WHEREAS, each debutante completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and16 maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9; and17 WHEREAS, throughout the program, the young women participated i n transformative18 workshops and experiences designed to challenge and inspire them; and19 WHEREAS, a defining moment of the season was their visit to the Georgia State Capitol,20 where they were recognized during the legislative session and had the opportunity to speak21 on issues important to them–demonstrating that their voices mat ter and their purpose is22 already in action; and23 WHEREAS, it is abunda ntly fitting and proper that this outstand ing young woman be24 appropriately honored.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend E’Maya Asbury fo r her unwavering27 commitment to service, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to30 E’Maya Asbury.31 H.
