26 LC 129 1307 House Resolution 1565 By: Representative Moore of the 91st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Star Devyne Harris; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Star Devyne Harris, a 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion deb utante, is the2 accomplished daughter of Demarco Harris and Dr. Synovia Dover-Harris; and3 WHEREAS, through her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Co tillion debutante4 program, Star has been supported and encouraged to grow in strength, character, confidence,5 and purpose; and6 WHEREAS, Star is a senior at Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High Sch ool, where she has7 maintained a strong academic record, ranking in the top 5 perce nt of her graduating class;8 and 9 WHEREAS, Star also brings her talent to several clubs and organizations, including being10 a varsity volleyball player and team captain, a member of the g olf team, and the President11 of Cristo Rey's National Honor Society Club, the vice president of marketing for DECA, and12 a member of the Beta Club; and 13 H. R. 1565 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1307 WHEREAS, she is a member of Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves14 as an active member of her community; and15 WHEREAS, each debutante completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and16 maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9; and17 WHEREAS, throughout the program, the young women participated i n transformative18 workshops and experiences designed to challenge and inspire them; and 19 WHEREAS, a defining moment of the season was their visit to the Georgia State Capitol,20 where they were recognized during the legislative session and had the opportunity to speak21 on issues important to them–demonstrating that their voices mat ter and their purpose is22 already in action; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing young woman be24 appropriately honored.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend Star Devyne Harris for her unwavering27 commitment to service, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Star30 Devyne Harris.31 H.
