26 LC 112 3792 House Resolution 1570 By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110th, Ali of the 106th, Howard of the 129th, Park of the 107th, Okoye of the 102nd, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Juliet Obi; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Juliet Obi is a seasoned entrepreneur, fashion innovator, and social leader who2 has dedicated her professional life to developing the next gene ration of leaders through3 education, entrepreneurship, and service; and4 WHEREAS, she currently serves as the chief executive officer an d founder of House of5 Ebony Fashion Limited, through which she has advanced women's a nd youth economic6 empowerment by providing skills training, entrepreneurship deve lopment, and financial7 literacy within the sustainable fashion sector; and8 WHEREAS, as a committed advocate for sustainable fashion, she p romotes eco-friendly9 practices, waste reduc tion, and the growth of women-led enterprises within the African10 fashion industry and beyond; and11 WHEREAS, Juliet Obi further serves as the founder of Kidpreneur A f r i c a , t h e f i r s t12 Kidpreneur Academy in Nigeria and Africa, established to addres s low levels of financial13 literacy among young people; and14 H. R. 1570 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3792 WHEREAS, through Kidpreneur Africa's Financial, Digital Literacy and Inclusion Program,15 children ages 6 to 18 are equipped with financial, digital, and entrepreneurial skills aimed at16 breaking cycles of poverty and fostering economic growth; and17 WHEREAS, these initiatives have supported more than 200,000 children across 200 schools18 in Nigeria as well as 20 schools in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and19 Cameroon; and20 WHEREAS, she has additionally expanded the impact of youth entrepreneurship across the21 continent and internationally as the convener of Africa's first Kidpreneur Summit and22 multiple Kidpreneur Conferences hosted in Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana, the United Kingdom,23 Maryland, and Atlanta; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le individual be25 appropriately honored during this special time.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Juliet Obi for her significant contributions28 to sustainable fashion, youth entrepreneurship, and economic em powerment as well as29 extend best wishes for continued success.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Juliet32 Obi.33 H.
