A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury has attained the rank of Ea gle Scout, the most2
distinguished rank conferred by Scouting America; and3
WHEREAS, a candidate for the most exceptional award in scouting must complete a4
rigorous program of training and demonstrate her proficiency in selected scouting techniques5
and the attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and6
WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and7
Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury has ably evidenced her aptitude and competency in mastering8
the various special skills taught through the Scouts BSA program; and9
WHEREAS, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury is an honor student at Mill Creek High School in10
Hoschton, Georgia, where she is scheduled to graduate this summer; and11
WHEREAS, she is an accomplished musician who plays the violin in her school orchestra12
and aspires to study biology at the University of North Georgia with the goal of becoming13
a biology teacher; and14

WHEREAS, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury is among the first female Scouts within Scouting15
America as well as a founding member of Troop 5508, one of the first female troops16
established within the Northeast Georgia Council; and17
WHEREAS, her scouting achievements include in-depth studies in first aid, health,18
environmental sustainability, forestry, and mammal studies, along with numerous additional19
career and recreational skill related merit badges; and20
WHEREAS, an outstanding Georgian, Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury ha s truly exhibited a21
commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and fairness a nd has consistently22
conducted herself in a manner becoming of an Eagle Scout; and23
WHEREAS, the perseverance and determination displayed by this exceptional young leader24
has set an example for all Georgians, and great success is sure ly in this young woman's25
future.26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body commend Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury for her diligence and28
dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by Scouting America and congratulate her29
on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.30
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to32
Kaylin Landrian-Shrewsbury.33
