26 LC 129 1310 House Resolution 1557 By: Representative Moore of the 91st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Schyler McGuire; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Schyler McGuire, a 2026 Showtime Pros Cotillion debuta nte, is the2 accomplished daughter of Zirie Benton and Harold McGuire; and3 WHEREAS, through her participation in the 2026 Showtime Pros Co tillion debutante4 program, Schyler has been supported and encouraged to grow in s trength, character,5 confidence, and purpose; and6 WHEREAS, she is a senior at Newton College and Career Academy, where she embodies7 artistry, leadership, and a strong faith in God; and8 WHEREAS, as a rising creative voice, Schyler is a skilled bass guitarist and a young visual9 artist with published works derived from her original Afrocentric-themed creations; and10 WHEREAS, she is an active member of the NexGen Youth Ministry at Springfield Baptist11 Church, mentors at local elementary schools, and is passionate about helping her community12 grow spiritually and emotionally through compassion and service; and13 H. R. 1557 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1310 WHEREAS, each debutante completed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and14 maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.9; and15 WHEREAS, throughout the program, the young women participated i n transformative16 workshops and experiences designed to challenge and inspire them; and 17 WHEREAS, a defining moment of the season was their visit to the Georgia State Capitol,18 where they were recognized during the legislative session and had the opportunity to speak19 on issues important to them–demonstrating that their voices mat ter and their purpose is20 already in action; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing young woman be22 appropriately honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Schyler McGuire for her unwavering25 commitment to service, leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to28 Schyler McGuire.29 H.
