26 LC 129 1313 House Resolution 1561 By: Representative Taylor of the 92nd A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Corliss Turner for receiving the 2026 Yellow Rose Nikki1 T. Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Women's Legislative Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Corliss Turner is a retired fraud investigator and uni on steward with the10 Communications Workers of America, who currently serves as a Lupus Coach supporting11 research participants through the Morehouse School of Medicine Lupus Study; and12 WHEREAS, she is the founder of Voices for Rockdale County, a co mmunity-focused13 organization dedicated to engaging, educating, and uniting residents on issues that directly14 impact the wellbeing and future of the Rockdale County community; and15 H. R. 1561 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1313 WHEREAS, through collaborative leadership, Corliss and the board conduct deep research16 and fact-based analysis to provide residents with clear, accura te information–empowering17 the community to make informed decisions about local matters; and18 WHEREAS, she is a strong-minded advocate for truth, accountability, and transparency in19 public service and community leadership and she truly leads from the heart; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body congratulate and commend Corliss Turner for receiving the 202624 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and exten d best wishes for her25 continued success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to28 Corliss Turner.29 H.
