26 LC 112 3790 House Resolution 1567 By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110th, Carter of the 93rd, Holly of the 116th, Park of the 107th, and Glaize of the 67th A RESOLUTION Recognizing May 25, 2026, as Africa Day and commending Afrovibe z for its cultural1 leadership; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Africa Day commemorates the 1963 founding of the Organization of African3 Unity, marking a historic commitment to unity, liberation, and progress among African4 nations; and5 WHEREAS, the observance continues through the work of the Afric an Union, promoting6 cooperation and development across the continent and the global diaspora; and7 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia is enriched by the cultural, econ omic, and civic8 contributions of its African and Diaspora communities; and9 WHEREAS, Afrovibez provides an annual platform to celebrate Afr ica Day, promote10 cultural pride, and foster unity within the State of Georgia within the diaspora.11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that12 the members of this body recognize May 25, 2026, as Africa Day and commend Afrovibez13 for its leadership in advancing cultural unity and community engagement.14 H. R. 1567 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3790 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized15 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the16 public and the press.17 H.
