26 LC 39 5031 House Resolution 1584 By: Representatives Jasperse of the 11th, Thomas of the 21st, Fincher of the 23rd, Ridley of the 22nd, and Byrd of the 20th A RESOLUTION Recognizing Mr. Eric Wilmarth and dedicating a roundabout in hi s honor; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mr. Eric Wilmarth has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3 vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service as the Ball Ground City Manager; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Wilmarth's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable9 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of10 this state have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and11 WHEREAS, under his management, Ball Ground was able to revitalize the sewer systems,12 supporting both economic and environmental sustainability, while never utilizing the powers13 of eminent domain; and14 H. R. 1584 - 1 - 26 LC 39 5031 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished15 Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating a roundabout in his honor.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL17 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the State Route 5BU and Howell Bridge Road roundabout18 in Cherokee County is dedicated as the Eric W. Wilmarth Roundabout.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and20 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Eric W. Wilmarth21 Roundabout.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to Mr.24 Eric Wilmarth and to the Department of Transportation.25 H.
