26 LC 129 1328 Senate Resolution 909 By: Senators Parent of the 44th, Jackson of the 41st, Parkes of the 7th, Halpern of the 39th, Orrock of the 36th and others A RESOLUTION Honoring Sameera Fazili for her public service and expertise in community development;1 and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Sameera Fazili is an attorney, public servant, and economic and financial expert3 with expertise that spans multiple industries including financi al services, manufacturing,4 clean energy, housing, small business, transportation, and logistics; and5 WHEREAS, she has held numerous prestigious positions, including as a Senior Policy6 Analyst at the United States Department of the Treasury, Senior Advisor to the Under7 Secretary of International Affairs, and within the White House National Economic Council8 as a Senior Policy Advisor during the Obama Administration; and9 WHEREAS, following her work with the Obama administration, Sameera was hired for a10 leadership role at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta as well as returned to the White House11 in 2021 as the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Dir ector of the National12 Economic Council during the Biden-Harris Administration; and13 S. R. 909 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1328 WHEREAS, after ending her most recent tour of service at the Wh ite House, Sameera14 continues her public service and career through volunteerism an d entrepreneurship, while15 raising her three children; and16 WHEREAS, Sameera's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience17 and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state18 and county have earned her the respect and admiration of all who know her; and19 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for20 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 honor Sameera Fazili for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service and25 extend their sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sameera Fazili.28 S.
