26 LC 47 4140/AP House Bill 1513 (AS PASSED HOUSE AND SENATE) By: Representatives Bonner of the 73 rd, Mathiak of the 82 nd, Bazemore of the 69 th, and Jackson of the 68th A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend an Act creating the State Court of Fayette County, app roved April 13, 19941 (Ga. L. 1994, p. 4980), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 25, 2022 (Ga. L.2 2022, p. 5856), so as to change the compensation of the judge; to change the compensation3 of the solicitor; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal4 conflicting laws; and for other purposes.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6 SECTION 1.7 An Act creating the State Court of Fayette County, approved April 13, 1994 (Ga. L. 1994,8 p. 4980), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 25, 2022 (Ga. L. 2022, p. 5856),9 is amended by revising Section 17 as follows:10 "SECTION 17.11 (a) The judge of the State Court of Fayette County shall receive a base salary in an amount12 equal to $175,844.82. Such base salary may be supplement as provided by general or local13 law. Such compensation shall be paid in equal monthly instalme nts from the funds of14 Fayette County.15 H. B. 1513 - 1 - 26 LC 47 4140/AP (b) In addition to the compensation provided for in subsection (a) of this section, the judge16 shall receive additional compensation in an amount equal to 5 p ercent of the amount17 provided for in subsection (a) of this section multiplied by th e number of completed18 four-year terms of office served by the judge, provided that su ch terms have been19 completed after July 1, 2022. The additional compensation provided for in this subsection20 shall be effective for a particular judge on the first day of January following the completion21 of each such four-year term of office."22 SECTION 2.23 Said Act is further amended by revising Section 21 as follows:24 "SECTION 21.25 (a) The solicitor of the State Court of Fayette County shall r eceive a base salary in an26 amount equal to $154,605.20. Such base salary may be supplemen ted as provided by27 general or local law. Such compensation shall be paid in equal monthly installments from28 the funds of Fayette County.29 (b) In addition to the compensation provided for in subsection (a) of this section, the30 solicitor shall receive additional compensation in an amount eq ual to 5 percent of the31 amount provided for in subsection (a) of this section multiplie d by the number of32 completed four-year terms of office served by the solicitor, provided that such terms have33 been completed after July 1, 2022. The additional compensation provided for in this34 subsection shall be effective for a particular solicitor on the first day of January following35 the completion of each such four-year term of office."36 SECTION 3.37 This Act shall become effective on the first day of the month following the month in which38 it is approved by the Governor or becomes law without such approval.39 H.
