26 LC 112 3783 House Resolution 1601 By: Representatives Sharper of the 177th, Herring of the 145th, Bell of the 75th, Bazemore of the 69th, Kendrick of the 95th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Jackie Walters; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Dr. Jackie Walters is a renowned OB-GYN, author, and television personality2 who is best known as the longtime star of Bravo's hit series Married to Medicine; and3 WHEREAS, she has become a trusted and respected voice in women's health, admired for4 her medical expertise, candor, and commitment to empowering women; and5 WHEREAS, as a two-time breast cancer survivor, Dr. Walters brin gs a unique blend of6 empathy and expertise to her practice, providing both emotional and physical care for women7 navigating complex health issues; and8 WHEREAS, she is the founder of 50 Shades of Pink, a nonprofit organization dedicated to9 educating and empowering women about early detection and survivorship; and10 WHEREAS, Dr. Walters holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of11 Mississippi and Alcorn State University as well as a medical degree from the University of12 Mississippi School of Medicine—she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology13 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and Mercer University; and14 H. R. 1601 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3783 WHEREAS, over two decades ago, Dr. Walters co-founded WOW Medi Spa, a space15 dedicated to helping women look and feel their best; and16 WHEREAS, in 2020, she expanded her influence with the release of her best-selling book,17 The Queen V, an empowering guide to feminine health; and18 WHEREAS, more recently, Dr. Walters became a skincare innovator, launching the Volition19 Skin RhythmTM Balancing & Clearing Cleanser for hormonal skin to complement her hero20 product, the Skin RhythmTM Balancing & Clearing Serum; and21 WHEREAS, she is also a founding partner of DUES (Diversity Unites, Equity Sustains), a22 modern workwear brand revolutionizing the medical apparel industry with luxury scrubs and23 uniforms that seamlessly blend functionality with high-end fashion; and24 WHEREAS, with her impressive career, personal resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit, Dr.25 Jackie Walters continues to inspire and uplift women across the globe.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Jackie Walte r s f o r h e r m a n y28 outstanding career accomplishments as well as extend best wishes for continued success.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.31 Jackie Walters.32 H.
