26 LC 39 5014 House Resolution 1586 By: Representatives Bonner of the 73 rd, Bazemore of the 69 th, Mathiak of the 82 nd, and Jenkins of the 136th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Mr. Marvin R. Adams and dedicating an intersection in his memory; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mr. Marvin R. Adams has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for3 the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep pe rsonal commitment to the4 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, Mr. Adams diligently and conscientiously devoted innum erable hours of his6 time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his communit y and state as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service with the Fayette County Board of Commissioners; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Adams served with honor and distinction with the Fayette County Board9 of Commissioners, and his vision and unyielding commitment helped establish the Fayette10 County Zoning Department; and11 WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience12 and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this13 state earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and14 H. R. 1586 - 1 - 26 LC 39 5014 WHEREAS, for over 50 years, Mr. Adams' farm provided a wonderful place for the citizens15 of Fayette County and the surrounding areas to shop for fresh produce and fruits; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished17 Georgian be appropriately recognized by dedicating an intersection in his memory.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL19 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the intersection of State Route 54 and Tyrone Road in20 Fayette County is dedicated as the Marvin R. Adams Memorial Intersection.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and22 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Marvin R. Adams Memorial23 Intersection.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the 26 family of Mr. Marvin R.
