A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Pastor Nancy Kornegay; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Pastor Nancy Kornegay was saved in 1973 at the age of 16 in Goldsboro, North2
Carolina, during a tent revival under the guidance of the Late Apostle Johnnie Washington,3
founder of the Tabernacle of Prayer For All People in Jamaica, New York; and4
WHEREAS, Pastor Kornegay was nurtured in her early spiritual journey by the Late Pastor5
Naomi Buckram, Founding Pastor of Tabernacle of Prayer in Golds boro, North Carolina,6
who provided guidance, mentorship, and instruction in the disciplines of prayer, service, and7
ministry; and8
WHEREAS, at the young age of 16, Pastor Kornegay began witnessing and preaching the9
Gospel, demonstrating extraordinary faith, commitment, and a clear calling to serve in the10
ministry; and11
WHEREAS, in 1976, she continued to be refined and prepared under the leadership of the12
Late Lawrence Bogier Jr., further equipping her to fulfill God's calling upon her life; and13

WHEREAS, Pastor Kornegay accepted her divine calling, married Charles Kornegay, and14
through military service was led to Hinesville, Georgia, where she planted the seeds of a new15
ministry; and16
WHEREAS, she founded the Tabernacle of Prayer on Memorial Drive with seven adults and17
four children, demonstrating unwavering faith, perseverance, and dedication to God's work;18
and19
WHEREAS, through seven relocations, Pastor Kornegay's faithfuln ess and commitment20
never wavered, culminating in the establishment of a permanent home for the church in 2009,21
a testament to God's providence and her leadership; and22
WHEREAS, the opening of the church in its permanent location, with an initial congregation23
of approximately fifty members, exemplifies the power of vision, determination, and faith,24
proving that what may seem impossible to man is always possible with God; and25
WHEREAS, Pastor Nancy Kornegay's life and ministry reflect resilience, servant leadership,26
and a deep commitment to uplifting individuals, families, and communities.27
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28
the members of this body recognize and commend Pastor Nancy Kornegay for her decades29
of leadership and dedication as well as extend best wishes for continued success.30
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Pastor32
Nancy Kornegay.33
