26 LC 112 3833 House Resolution 1633 By: Representatives Reeves of the 99th, Tran of the 80th, Hong of the 103rd, Lim of the 98th, and Au of the 50th A RESOLUTION Commending the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, founded in 2006, the Vietnamese Women's Association of G e o r g i a i s a2 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering the Vietnamese3 community in the State of Georgia, particularly women and famil ies seeking opportunity,4 stability, and a strong sense of belonging; and5 WHEREAS, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia has played an important role6 in bringing together women of all ages in a spirit of solidarit y, providing opportunities to7 exchange knowledge, strengthen community ties, and preserve Vietnamese heritage through8 cultural programs and annual festivals; and9 WHEREAS, mindful of the diverse cultural profile that defines t he State of Georgia, the10 organization works to promote understanding, inclusion, and int egration for newcomers11 while fostering community development through programs that enc ourage healthy living,12 cultural exchange, and civic participation; and13 WHEREAS, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia is parti cularly dedicated to14 empowering women through leadership development initiatives, fi nancial literacy15 H. R. 1633 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3833 workshops, and educational programs designed to support women a s they balance16 professional responsibilities, family life, and community leadership; and17 WHEREAS, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia has supp orted vulnerable18 communities through outreach assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in Gwinnett19 County and nearby areas, a Christmas volunteer program in Clarkston that provided gifts and20 essential items to refugee families and children newly arrived from the Congo in Africa,21 participation in an annual health fair, and fundraising efforts to support flood disaster relief22 in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, and Vietnam; and23 WHEREAS, through its dedication to service, cultural preservati on, and community24 empowerment, the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia has greatly enriched the25 civic and cultural life of this state, making it abundantly fit ting and proper that it be26 appropriately honored.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body commend the Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia for its29 outstanding service to the community and extend best wishes for continued success.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the32 Vietnamese Women's Association of Georgia.33 H.
